If thugs ever thought of actually killing all the gumshoes, rather than just knocking them out, the entire genre would collapse overnight.

Delmonte forced TWO commercial breaks per episode, and had the announcer say the name of the sponsor a number of times elsewhere, too. No mater how you slice it, you're going to have a reference to Delmonte, so I decided to go with it.

It's not that the shows are worse, but the style of the show certainly changes with the new sponsor.

One story is about him asking his boss - on behalf of the other crew - about changing a policy that no one liked. His boss said he'd have to ask about it. Weeks later, word came back, after it went up and back, that no one at the company cared about or knew about that policy at all, and wondered why the crew thought it was something they had to follow.
